Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any services provided by Slog Group LLC (“Slog Group,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), you (“Client” or “you”) agree to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined in this document. This agreement governs all services provided, including roofing inspections, estimates, installations, replacements, repairs, and all communication related to our contractual work.

Clients are responsible for reviewing this document thoroughly before proceeding with any contract or service. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you should not enter into an agreement or contract with Slog Group.

2. Services Provided

Slog Group offers residential and commercial roofing services including, but not limited to: full roof replacements, partial repairs, overlays, coatings, insurance claim support, gutter systems, and roof inspections. All services will be clearly defined in your service contract and agreed upon by both parties prior to the start of the work.

Each service is customized based on the client’s needs, site conditions, and material availability. All services are rendered following Illinois state codes and the highest industry standards to ensure quality, compliance, and long-lasting performance.

3. Estimates and Contracts

All estimates provided by Slog Group are based on a visual inspection and available data at the time of review. If unforeseen issues arise—such as rot, hidden damage, or additional labor needs—adjustments to the estimate may be necessary. These will be communicated to the client promptly and transparently.

Clients are required to sign a service contract before any work begins. This contract will outline the full scope of work, payment terms, warranty, materials used, and the expected timeline. All estimates are valid for 15 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated.

4. Payments and Billing

Unless agreed upon in writing, the following standard payment terms apply:

  • A 50% down payment is required upon signing the contract.
  • The remaining 50% is due immediately upon project completion.
  • Any payment not received within 15 days of the due date will incur a 2% monthly late fee.

Payment methods accepted: credit card, bank transfer, checks, third-party financing (such as Hearth), and insurance proceeds if applicable. Clients using insurance must provide claim documentation and check handling coordination.

Invoices will be emailed to the client. Payment receipts and progress invoices are available upon request.

5. Scheduling and Delays

Project start dates will be scheduled upon receipt of the down payment. External factors such as weather, material shortages, or permitting delays may impact the project timeline. Slog Group will notify the client of any changes and will make every reasonable effort to avoid delays.

Clients must ensure access to the property is available on agreed-upon dates and remove any personal items from the work area to prevent damage.

6. Warranty

Slog Group provides a 3-year limited labor warranty on services performed, in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty for all materials installed.

This warranty covers defects in labor or craftsmanship during the warranty period. It does not cover issues caused by:

  • Improper maintenance
  • Damage from storms, natural disasters, or vandalism
  • Alterations or repairs by others
  • Normal wear and tear

Claims must be submitted in writing within the warranty period. Warranty details are outlined in the final service contract.

7. Cancellations and Refunds

Clients may cancel a signed service agreement within 10 calendar days of signing for a full refund, provided work has not begun. After that period, cancellations may be subject to administrative fees or partial retention of the deposit, depending on services rendered and materials ordered.

Refunds will be processed within 15 business days of cancellation approval. Clients are responsible for returning any unused materials or equipment as requested.

8. Insurance Claims and Appraisals

Slog Group supports insurance-based roof projects by working with trusted Public Adjusters (PAs). While we assist in facilitating claim documentation and work scope estimates, we are not responsible for the final approval or denial of any claim.

Clients opting to proceed with an insurance claim must sign all necessary documents and representation agreements with the PA, such as Eco Shield. Commissions and fees charged by PAs will be clearly disclosed. Slog Group is not financially liable for differences in claim amounts versus estimate costs.

9. Safety and Regulations

Slog Group is fully insured and licensed in the state of Illinois. All crews follow OSHA guidelines, safety protocols, and wear required PPE on-site. Our zero-tolerance policy prohibits unsafe work practices, discrimination, harassment, or any form of misconduct.

It is the client’s responsibility to notify household occupants or tenants of the scheduled work and to ensure pets and children are kept away from work zones.

10. Limitation of Liability

Slog Group is not liable for damage to:

  • Interior items (e.g., wall decor) caused by vibrations during work
  • Landscaping, furniture, or vehicles not moved prior to start
  • Pre-existing damage to structures or utilities

Slog Group will take reasonable care to avoid damage and communicate known risks. Clients are advised to photograph pre-job site conditions for personal documentation.

11. Material Handling and Overages

All materials are custom-ordered. Leftover materials remain the property of Slog Group unless otherwise agreed upon. Material overages or shortages may occur depending on roof complexity, pitch, and access.

In cases of hidden deck rot or additional material needs, clients will be informed and may be billed additional amounts—particularly if exceeding $200.

12. Use of Client Information and Testimonials

With client consent, Slog Group may use job photos, testimonials, or video reviews for marketing purposes. No private client information will be shared without express permission.

13. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, the client agrees to first seek resolution through written communication and mediation before pursuing legal remedies. Both parties agree to act in good faith to resolve concerns and maintain professional standards.
