Hardness

40-50 Shore D: With a hardness comparable to skateboard wheels or bowling balls, Ecodur roof coatings are superior in resistance to traffic, hail, animals and other types of damage.

Durability

Ecodur's thinnest layer brings a minimum durability of 10 years for substrates exposed to the elements. That can be extended even further for interiors.

Safety

The products are so safe that Ecodur even has an ANSI/NSF-61 certification and can be used in contact with drinking water and food.

Repairability

Ecodur roofing coating bonds seamlessly to itself, enabling self-repair without limitations on thickness. This easy adherence ensures that repairs are quick, effective, and long-lasting, an ideal choice for maintaining durable roof protection over time.

Adhesion

Ecodur roofing coating boasts up to 3x the adhesion of other products, often eliminating the need for pressure washing. This not only minimizes environmental impact but also preserves the integrity of the existing roof membrane.

Sustainability

Made from natural ingredients (its two main ingredients are renewable castor oil and naturally-derived recyclable gypsum), Ecodur is VOC-free, non-toxic and BPA-free.

Heat Resistance

Roofs under solar panels can reach temperatures over 87°C, causing early degradation in TPO and other roofing systems. Ecodur roofing coating remains stable and resistant to heat degradation even at 98.88°C.

UV Resistance

While acrylics degrade at about 1 mil/year and silicone edges curl under UV exposure, Ecodur’s mineral-modified urethane discolors but does not degrade, ensuring long-lasting roofing protection.

Product Cure

Ecodur is ideal for filling cracks and blisters. Silicone can be applied up to 60 mil/pass but takes weeks to cure. Acrylic coatings, with only 50-60% solids, are applied to 26 mil/pass. Each pass cures at 13 mils, and only Castagra Ecodur is completely dry after 1 cure.

Standing Water Resistance

Originating from the tank lining industry, Castagra coating have a decades-long track record of withstanding millions of gallons of water, wastewater, and chemicals. Prolonged ponding doesn't affect Ecodur, unlike acrylics that blister and liquefy over time.
